Gordon Binder, Managing Director at Coastview Capital and former Chairman and CEO of Amgen receives
the 2005 Global Leadership Award from Biotechnology Roundtable President, Arash Michael Davallou.
Mr. Binder received a standing ovation from the club members who attended the event for his
many years of contributions to the field.

"Biotech 2005 - Perspectives on Venture Capital, Entrepreneurship and Strategy" panelists
Bernice Welles (MPM Capital), David Flores (BioCentury), Nandini Tandon (MDS Capital),
Gordon Binder (Coastview Capital), Gail Maderis (FivePrime Therapeutics) with moderator
Matthew Le Merle (The Monitor Group) addressed the club members who
attended the annual dinner event.

Mr. Binder shared his perspectives as a venture capitalist at Coastview, as the former CEO of Amgen,
and as former Chairman of the Biotechnology Industry Organization.

Arman Pahlavan of Squire Sanders and Dempsey shared some thoughts with the audience.

Alumni from 20 of the top business schools in the world enjoyed catching up with each other during dinner.

Members represented MBA Classes of 1960 to 2004.

Members came from startup biotech companies, venture capital firms, investment banking firms
and large cap biotech companies in the Bay Area.

The reception was filled with lively conversations about the biotech sector and members meeting each other.

Spring theme center pieces added color to the event.
